Why there is no paid plan
When a service has a paid plan, how far its free tier can go is a question of balance with that plan. This service has no paid plan, so there is no such balance to strike. Ads are the only revenue, so there is no reason to hold features back.

About the ads
The reader shows a single ad slot, at the top, so that as much of the screen as possible stays with your articles. Public pages such as the directory carry one slot at the top and one at the bottom. Ads are the only revenue, and they are the reason this can be free. The number of slots will not grow beyond what running the service requires.

This is a one-person project, so word of mouth is most of how anyone hears about it. If you find it useful, telling people there is a handy thing for keeping up with sites genuinely helps. They do not need to know what RSS is — picking a few genres is enough to get started.
